"Knowledge without compassion is inhuman; compassion without knowledge is ineffective" - Victor Weisskopf, MIT
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC (#13991), offering psychotherapy services in Port Moody and online across BC. I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University and an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Women’s Studies from the University of Victoria. I have further training in motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and 200 hours of yoga teacher training as well as 200 hours of meditation and mindfulness training. I have extensive experience working with concurrent disorders and trauma and have completed First Responders Training to better support Emergency and Frontline services.
I have been working in the field of mental health for over a decade, across a variety of organizations. My current practice includes private practice serving teens, adults and couples, group therapy and consulting services offering workshops and trainings. Additionally, I serve as the vice-chair of Yoga Outreach, as well as a volunteer clinician with BC Disaster Psychosocial Services.
I offer services with a background in a range of modalities and serve diverse populations. A common theme for my clients is a feeling of repeating patterns - in their behaviours, relationships and ways of thinking. With this in mind, I support my clients in addressing their current experiences, as well as identifying connections to deeper emotions and beliefs that they hold. My work is guided by trauma-informed, and client-centered principles, allowing my clients to maintain autonomy throughout our work.
I currently offer individual counselling services for youth (12+), teens, and adults of all genders, as well as couples counselling.
